Much has been done over the last year to improve the overall conditions and safety for each of our campuses.

We have added security cameras to each of our schools that will allow for almost 100% coverage of all activities happening on our properties.

Our campuses are cleaner both inside and outside and we are still improving.

Renovations have begun on repairing and replacing outdated restroom facilities, doors, HVAC units and equipment.

Architects are onsite planning new entrances to several schools. The demolition and new construction projects at BIS will be underway soon and all of our kids are enjoying new and safe playground equipment.

If that is not enough good news, the better news is that we are spending most of our monies to complete these projects locally.

All of our students in grades 6-12 now have chrome-book devices that they can take home to use and continue their learning.  Student academic achievement is beginning to show steady progress in almost all of our grades and subjects taught.

We have fewer teacher vacancies this year to begin the year than ever before in the district. We have work to do, but we are committed to getting better each day with both our teaching and learning.

Our student participation rate at NETC is increasing benefiting students and families with possible associate degrees, career certifications and savings on tuition.

We have increased partnerships with our ecumenical and business community. Our students and staff are grateful for the support that we are receiving from local law-enforcement and our fire department officials.

If you have not been to one of our schools this week, take a moment and go visit. You will see for yourself the changes that are happening daily.

Our focus points for this year will be to improve student daily attendance, increase literacy awareness, and recruit more volunteers for mentoring our young minds.

Our board of trustees has been visible and attentive to the needs of the district and they continue to seek ways to improve the conditions and learning environments.

As we strive to model excellence for our students, and staff, we ask that you join us by supporting our efforts and our progress.

As superintendent of this district I personally would like to say thank you to everyone for allowing me this opportunity to serve this wonderful community.

Our hashtag is more than just words we say, we show it every day! #345

Thank you,
