Marlboro County School District has partnered with the University of South Carolina to participate in a new alternative certification, Carolina Collaborative for Alternative Preparation (CarolinaCAP).

CarolinaCAP is part of a unique partnership developed by the University of South Carolina in partnership with the Center for Teaching Quality and partnering school districts.

CarolinaCAP is a non-degree program leading to full licensure as teacher.

If you are accepted as a CarolinaCAP candidate with the Marlboro County School District, the $7,500 fee will be paid by the district.

Step 1: Review Program Information

Step 2: Complete the Pre-Screen Form

As part of the registration process, we ask that you complete the CarolinaCAP Pre-Screening Form.

Once we have the preliminary information, including unofficial transcripts, you will receive an evaluation letter listing the areas for which you are qualified to teach through CarolinaCAP.

In addition, the letter will list the next steps in the process.

Please allow the team two weeks from receipt of the pre-screening form and unofficial transcript to process the information and send the evaluation letter.

Processing time may take longer if information is unclear or incomplete.
