The State Department of Education has sent out a survey to all parents through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please go to www.marlboro.k12.sc.us and click the Parent Portal Button located on the homepage. In the Parent Portal, click on the Forms Tab to access the survey.
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires notification to parents of their rights to opt out of sharing directory information with institutions of higher education or military recruiters. PowerSchool does not currently have a field in which districts can record this information for ease of reference. To facilitate the gathering of this information, the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) has created an eCollect form which will gather the information and populate fields in PowerSchool to store the opt-out status. The ESSA requires that all school districts receiving ESSA funds provide this notification to parents and to students over 18 years of age.
