Marlboro County School District would like to announce that Sam Price has been named the 2022-2023 Executive Director of Exceptional Children for the Marlboro County School District. Mrs. Price has served as a professional educator in South Carolina since 1998. From 1998 to 2006, she served as an Exceptional Education and General Education teacher in Greenwood School District 50. From 2006-2012, Mrs. Price severed as an Exceptional Education and Transition Coach for Spartanburg School District 1. Mrs. Price served as an inclusion teacher in Marion County School District in 2012-2013. From 2013 to 2016, she served as an Exceptional Education Coach and Project Changing Course EEDA grant coordinator at Cheraw Intermediate School. From 2016 until present, Mrs. Price has served as Transition Coach and Work based learning Coordinator for Chesterfield County Schools.
In 1997, Mrs. Price earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Lander University. In 1999, she completed requirements to earn a certification in Learning Disabilities. In 2006, she earned a Master’s Degree in Education from the Southern Wesleyan University and she also earned her National Boards Certification. Mrs. Price continued her education and earned an additional certification in Educational Administration from Wingate University in 2016. She is licensed in the state of South Carolina to serve as an elementary, secondary principal and supervisor.
Mrs. Price has served as Conference Coordinator 2018-2020, Vice President 2017-2018, President Elect 2018-2019 and President 2019-2020 of the Council of Exceptional Children for the state of South Carolina. She serves as Area 2 Special Olympics Director for Chesterfield, Marlboro and Darlington Counties.
Mrs. Price and her husband, Dr. Chris Price, have three children and a son in law, Ana, Chandler, Tye and Amy.

I look forward to developing great working relationship with this team and look forward to leading this wonderful group,” stated Mrs. Price.

Her enthusiasm and work ethic will serve our district well as we continue to improve our opportunities for student growth. Serving students with disabilities has been her life's work. Her experiences and knowledge of the special education programs will be a tremendous asset for our students in the Marlboro County School District."
