Friday, August 6th, the ribbon cutting for the Dennis Miller Memorial Football Field which was recently resurfaced with a state of the art turf covering. If you haven't seen it, be sure to check out the pictures below, although they don't do the awesomeness justice!


Today was a GREAT DAY! Our teachers and staff returned today full of energy and excitement for the new year! Principals from each school treated their staff with breakfast, welcome back activities and professional development. It was a great day!




Local clergy gathered this morning to bless the opening of newly remodeled Dennis Miller Memorial Football Field at Marlboro County High School McAlpine Stadium.
Tonight, Friday, August 6, 2021, at 7:30 pm, there will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The Bulldogs will scrimmage before 7:30 and the ceremony will start at 7:30. Admission is free and we invite everyone to come out and get a close up view of the field. There will be additional activities as well: free vaccinations, bouncy houses, the band will perform, the 2001 State Championship Football Team will be in attendance, food trucks, etc. Be sure to come out and join us! You may even have a chance to run on the field!!! #345

Blenheim Middle School of Discovery’s (BMSD) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Middle Level members competed in the FBLA National Leadership Conference. Two students placed in the top ten in the FBLA National Competitive Events. Kendall Miles placed eighth for Career Exploration and Jamison Bethea placed first for Entrepreneurship.

Marlboro County School District is seeking input from stakeholders and the public to inform the development of the district plan for use in funding received through the American Rescue Plan's Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ARP ESSER III). To facilitate input, MCSD will have a public meeting on Monday, August 2nd, at MCHS Commons Area at 4 pm to engage in meaningful consultation with the public and diverse stakeholder groups. Next week we will have a district wide athletics vaccinations information meeting. The meeting will take place Tuesday July 20th at 4pm at Bennettsville Intermediate School in our new state of the art auditorium. This meeting will be for rising 7 – 12th grade students and their parents/guardians. We are excited to announce that Chick-Fil-A of Laurinburg has agreed to be a sponsor for this event.
We need all coaches and student's athletes who participate in athletics in Marlboro County School District rising grades 7-12th to be present. We will be discussing sports physicals, academics, and the importance of Covid-19 vaccinations. We are excited to be able to answer questions on these topics as well.
Again, it is imperative that all coaches and student athletes from Wallace Middle, Blenheim Middle School of Discovery, McColl Middle and MCHS be present at this meeting Tuesday July 20th at 4pm. Board Chairman Larry McNeil and Board Secretary Kathy Manville Receive South Carolina School Boards Association (SCSBA) Awards
SCSBA's Boardmanship Institute offers a year-round training curriculum focused on leadership skills for the board members on state and national educational issues. Level 6 is the highest recognition in the Institute.
Congratulations to Chairman Larry McNeil for completing Level 3 and Secretary Kathy Manville for completing Level 2. They were recognized last night during the School Board Meeting.
