An Armed Intruder Drill is in progress at Blenheim Middle School of Discovery this morning 5/6/22. This is ONLY A DRILL and there is NO EMERGENCY AT THE SCHOOL. Armed Intruder Drill at WEMS


Today MCHS contacted the Bennettsville Police Dept. in regard to a student possibly having a weapon. The school was placed on lockdown, officers responded and through the efforts of administration and officers, the juvenile was quickly located. A bb/pellet gun was discovered.
At no time were students or staff in danger. The school is no longer under lockdown. As far as we know, the Prom Promise event will still be held this morning.

Vaccination Event Wednesday April 20th.
A team of nurses from Charleston will come out to administer vaccinations to home bound receipts from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
A vaccination clinic will be held from 2:00 pm- 5:00 pm for all ages 5 years and older at Bennettsville Community Center. Parents and Guardians, this will be an opportunity to get your children vaccinated during spring break. There will be $50.00 Visa gift cards for those getting first or second dose vaccinations or for those who would like to have their name placed in a drawing for a laptop computer or a sound bar.
All types of vaccinations (Pfizer, Moderna, and J & J) will be available including the booster shots.

Games Cancelled for April 5, 2022


On March 25, 2022, MCSD will host its Art's Alive show in MCHS Gymnasium between the hours of 5:00-7:00. During this time, we will have a gallery walk with artwork from our students, as well as performances from the BMSD Chorus, Dance, Theatre, and Band and the MCHS Jazz Band.


No school for students Friday, March 25, 2022. It is a professional development day for all staff.

MCHS DECA students attended the SC STATE CAREER DEVELOPMENT Conference February 25-27 in North Charleston. The following DECA students took the stage: Landon Shelley was installed as the Vice President of Hospitality for the state of SC DECA. Kaileigh Ashworth and Karyn Holloway placed first place in the Entrepreneurship team decision event, Kennedy Miles placed third in Employment Acquisition, Alex Stroman placed fourth in Public Speaking, Remiya Jackson placed fifth in Employment Acquisition, and Logan Haithcock and Tiajah Williams were in the top ten finalist for Hospitality Services Team event. Sha’nya Gaines and Kennedy Miles represented the chapter as voting delegates. The MCHS chapter was awarded the gold status for the Program of Work, silver for membership and won February Chapter of the Month. DECA is celebrating 79 years as we continue to develop emerging leaders in marketing, management, finance, and entrepreneurship careers.
