Jaylynn Long, 4th grade student at Bennettsville Intermediate, was selected as the District Character Ed Student of the Month for grades K-5. Jaylynn's teacher, Ashley Watson, accepted the award in her absence.

Tessa Chavis, 8th grader from Wallace Elementary Middle School, has been selected as the District Character Education Student of the Month for grades 6-12.

Anthony Bostic, Class of 2023 was presented the National Wrestling Coaches Association and United States Marine Corp Character and Leadership Award during the June 6th board meeting. Coach Tony McMillan nominated Anthony for this honor and was proud to present it to him.

Kimberly Hicks and Madison Parker were recognized at the June Board Meeting for earning the State FFA Degree. Congratulations girls!

Summer School

Marlboro County School District will NOT be offering the Virtual Academy for the 2022-2023 school year at this time. Your child will be expected to attend school in his/her attendance zone unless other arrangements are made. If you have questions, contact the school.

Summer Feeding Sites


An Armed Intruder Drill is in progress at Blenheim Middle School of Discovery this morning 5/6/22. This is ONLY A DRILL and there is NO EMERGENCY AT THE SCHOOL. Law Enforcement Officers are on campus as they are going through the DRILL as well. No STUDENTS or EMPLOYEES are in danger...THIS IS ONLY A DRILL. No one will be allowed in or out of the building during the DRILL.


Armed Intruder Drill at WEMS


Today MCHS contacted the Bennettsville Police Dept. in regard to a student possibly having a weapon. The school was placed on lockdown, officers responded and through the efforts of administration and officers, the juvenile was quickly located. A bb/pellet gun was discovered.
At no time were students or staff in danger. The school is no longer under lockdown. As far as we know, the Prom Promise event will still be held this morning.

Vaccination Event Wednesday April 20th.
A team of nurses from Charleston will come out to administer vaccinations to home bound receipts from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
A vaccination clinic will be held from 2:00 pm- 5:00 pm for all ages 5 years and older at Bennettsville Community Center. Parents and Guardians, this will be an opportunity to get your children vaccinated during spring break. There will be $50.00 Visa gift cards for those getting first or second dose vaccinations or for those who would like to have their name placed in a drawing for a laptop computer or a sound bar.
All types of vaccinations (Pfizer, Moderna, and J & J) will be available including the booster shots.

State Testing Dates


Games Cancelled for April 5, 2022


On March 25, 2022, MCSD will host its Art's Alive show in MCHS Gymnasium between the hours of 5:00-7:00. During this time, we will have a gallery walk with artwork from our students, as well as performances from the BMSD Chorus, Dance, Theatre, and Band and the MCHS Jazz Band.


No school for students Friday, March 25, 2022. It is a professional development day for all staff.
