Today MCHS contacted the Bennettsville Police Dept. in regard to a student possibly having a weapon. The school was placed on lockdown, officers responded and through the efforts of administration and officers, the juvenile was quickly located. A bb/pellet gun was discovered.
At no time were students or staff in danger. The school is no longer under lockdown. As far as we know, the Prom Promise event will still be held this morning.
